More About Sue Peiser
As founder and Chief Executive of Peiser Connections, Sue has the skills, vision and ability to match donors with worthy recipients for the best return on corporate social investment. Through the strategic use of foundations, corporations and high-net-worth individuals, Sue has sourced and matched funding for numerous foundations, corporations, non-profits and individuals locally and internationally. She is proof that anything is achievable with belief, tenacity, teamwork, and the will and passion to get things done.
Sue set up BackaBuddy, an online fundraising platform for individuals to donate easily and safely to causes of their choice. When Just Giving, a British online fundraising platform turned her down as they felt South Africans would not give enough to charity, her late husband, Alan Beuthin, backed her to get BackaBuddy off the ground. BackaBuddy was sold after Alan’s passing in 2015, and the rest is history. Today, BackaBuddy is the largest donations based crowdfunding platform for individuals and charities in South Africa, having raised R550M from global donors for 44,000 causes.
